Easy Tips for Vaping and Traveling

Vaping, or electronic cigarettes, is considered a much healthier choice over smoking since cigarettes contain over 4,300 chemicals. In fact, one-in-five deaths in America are related to smoking. This is why many former smokers are quickly turning to vaping. First of all, the four many ingredients in an e-liquid like Vape Wild includes Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, Nicotine, and flavoring.

Yet, you can also get e-liquids without nicotine, or in various strengths of nicotine–depending on your preferences. Plus, vaping emits almost zero odor–unless it is a nice scent. Decades ago, airport and airlines banned smoking–much to the chagrin of smokers. Since vaping is so much healthier than cigarettes, how can you travel while vaping? We let you know how here.

Traveling and vaping go hand in hand

Vaping provides so much more freedom than cigarettes. This independence is clear when you’re traveling. Although you can’t smoke on the plane, you can certainly pack your e-cigarette in your carry-on luggage. This is important to note since the FAA does not want your e-cigarette in your checked luggage. The good news is most agents know what e-cigarettes are–not to mention, x-ray scanners won’t damage them either.

When you vape, you want a variety of flavors–that’s just part of the fun. Well, you can pack your extra e-liquids and cartomizers in your carry-on. This is a better alternative to packing it in your checked luggage as extreme temperatures in cargo can cause bottles of e-liquid to crack. In addition, most e-liquid bottles fit within the 3.4 ounce TSA limit. Of course, you want to place them in a clear bag with your other liquids.

Vaping in airports

During your layovers, you might be surprised to learn that there are a few airports that do allow e-cigarette use inside. These include:

  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
  • McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas)
  • Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport
  • Charlotte Douglas International Airport
  • Dulles International Airport
  • Tampa International Airport
  • Miami International Airport
  • Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

Many cruise lines have tried to improve the comfort with customers, but have done away with smoke-friendly cruise ships. Check with your operator to fully understand their vaping policies. Princess and Celebrity cruise lines restrict vaping to designated spaces. Although, there are others that allow vaping at the pool deck, in the bars, in the casinos and on private balconies. In fact, Carnival Cruises lets you vape everywhere except for the dining areas.

Vape-friendly cities

Naturally, you would want to travel to cities that are more open to vaping. Here are several that understand the differences between vaping and smoking:

  1. Las Vegas, Nevada. This is a vapers paradise as you can vape in casinos, bars, restaurants–and of course, outside. If you travel to Las Vegas, you will see both vapers and smokers everywhere. There are some casinos trying to ban smoking, but not vaping. It will probably be years before smoking is banned in casinos. As a result, you can expect to have the ability to vape in Las Vegas for decades to come.
  2. Nashville, Tennessee. If you love great music and vaping, this is the place for you. From their southern hospitality to amazing music history, and barbecue, Nashville is a great place to vape.
  3. Miami, Florida. Amazingly, there are seven vape shops per 100,000 people. People in Miami enjoy vaping whether it’s after eating a delicious Cuban sandwich or at the beach.
  4. Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is considered the most vape-friendly city in the U.S. The nonprofit think tank R Street gave it an A+, 97/100 rating in a November 2016. The reason is due to a state court ruling that differentiates vaping from smoking. If only other states would follow suit. So, pull out your e-cigarette and smoke away.

It is much easier to travel and vape than it is to travel and smoke. Thankfully, many cities and airports are open to vaping knowing that it is much healthier than cigarettes.
