With different holiday seasons closing in quick between half term breaks, spring break and even summer coming up quicker than expected, there’s never been a better time to start thinking about holiday ideas for you and the family. Maybe you’re looking at another half term just stuck inside due to rubbish weather with not much going on. Well, it doesn’t have to be that way, and we’ve put together some great holiday ideas for you and the kids that can be enjoyable – rain or shine!
While summertime is always a time to get away from it all and take off on a wild adventure either alone or with family and friends, many other people like to just kick back in their garden with a tall frosty beer, a book and the sun. Staycations can be some of the most relaxing types of vacation out there, especially considering you can do what you want, when you want and you don’t need to worry about filling your time and making the most of being in a new place, allowing you to fully relax, unwind and rest up from your usual everyday work schedule.
A Trip To Spain
A trip to Spain is always a top idea for many, especially those with kids. Malaga in particular is a hugely popular resort city on the Costa del Sol that offers a bit of everything for everyone of every age and as a result is a great place for families. Rent a car on your Malaga holiday and explore not just the city and surrounding area, but take the plunge and go on a road trip a bit further afield to the likes of Cordoba, Seville or even Gibraltar. With a beach destination like this though, you might find it hard to pull yourself away from the coast, but it’s worth it!
Still not sure what to do and where to go but time is ticking away? Why not consider just packing the car, getting the kids all ready and taking a road trip around your own backyard. The beauty about road trips is that they don’t need to take forever, or even more than a day. They can literally be as short or as long as you want and you can either go where the wind takes you or follow a specific route. Great road trips in the UK include the Yorkshire Dales, Scottish Highlands and the Peak District as well as Snowdonia in north Wales or the Pembrokeshire coastline.
A Day Out In London
At the end of the day if you’re really stuck, why not consider a weekend away taking in the sights and sounds of the big city – London. That is to say, unless you work there. You may not be all that keen to go back to the city on your holidays! London has a lot to offer a person having a weekend break from great shows in the West End, upscale eateries and rooftop bars, and that’s not to mention the lush shopping options. Work in London and want to avoid it? Check out other cities such as Bath, Bristol, Cardiff or Chester – all easily done from London and worth a day or two in and of themselves.
With so many great ideas for summer holidays, short breaks just because or half term, there’s no time like the present to look into just what ways you and your family can do to enjoy all that upcoming free time together! Enjoy!
