Dubai is fast becoming one of the most popular holiday locations in the world and when you visit the incredibly opulent and decadent city you will see why. Dubai has just about everything that any tourist could want and it is a truly remarkable experience to see this incredible and super ostentatious city.
I was lucky enough to spend a month in the Middle East last year, during which time I spent 5 magical days in Dubai. There is so much to do for tourists in this city from luxury tours in Dubai and plenty of landmarks to visit. My personal highlight was the Dhow cruise dinner, a perfect way to enjoy a different side to the city, on water. I was already keen on taking a cruise or one of the fishing trips in the UAE that I saw as we were traveling around, and this one in particular in Dubai was just the ticket! Aside from this perfect cruise, I wanted to share with you some of the things that you can get involved in when you go to Dubai.
When I said that Dubai has everything that you could want, this is the perfect example, skiing on real snow, right in the heart of the desert. This is exactly what you can do in the Emirates Shopping Mall in Ski Dubai, an 80 meter mountain of real snow which is made because of the eco-system which has been created inside. There are also half pipes and ramps for snowboarders, and the mountain itself has 3 different runs.

A visit to Dubai would simply not be complete without a visit to the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. You’ll see this skyscraper from all over the city and it is truly a remarkable feat. In order to see this building, and Dubai at its finest, you will need head up to the observation deck on the 148th floor where you will be treated to on of the most spectacular cityscapes in the world.
Don’t forget that when you are in Dubai, you are of course right in the heart of the desert, although it may not feel that way with all of those skyscrapers. Make the most of your location and head out in a Jeep or on a camel to discover the golden sand dunes which surround this city. The best thing to do when you head off on a desert tour is to take the ones which have some time at the end of the tour to enjoy a barbecue as the sun sets, a magical experience.
The souks or markets of the Middle East are absolutely amazing and I love the buzz, the noise and of course, the wide range of items which you can buy here. If you do happen to be in Dubai, I would absolutely recommend that you go and see the gold and silver souks which sell swathes of beautiful jewellery, at excellent prices.
